Welcome to Cork’s weekly
newsletter.
Well we’re just 2 days away from
the Patriots next win on their
way to the Super Bowl and only
23 days away from our Super Brew
III Beer Tasting. We’ve updated
the website (corksfinewine.com)
with a bit of info on it but we
are still adding suppliers and
beers so check back often.
To get the playoff party started
we have a “Bonus Beer Tasting”
this Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30
with Narragansett Brewing Co.
In addition to their old school
Gansett they also make a Light
and a Bock Beer that are quite
good. So be sure to stop by and
support this local beer as you
stock up for the big game.
Tonight (Thursday) from 4:30 to
7:30 we will have Smuttynose
Brewing here to taste you on
their outstanding beers from
Portsmouth, NH. We will sample
the Portsmouth Lager, IPA,
Shoals Pale Ale, and Old Brown
Dog Ale which are all part of
their mixed variety pack. I'm
sure if we twisted his arm we
could get him to open the Scotch
Ale or the Wheat Wine Ale from
the "Big Beer Series" as well.
As with all our Thursday night
beer tastings here at Cork's you
will get 10 % off on any beer
you try that night.
I’m sure most of you are just
now getting your holiday bills
in the mail and the wine budget
is getting pinched a bit. So
Friday’s wine tasting will be
value wines and maybe a few
closeouts that are good wines
that won’t break the bank. I
haven’t picked them out yet but
I have a few in mind and it will
be a nice mix.
Our friend Bill Tredo (the guy
in the skirt at our St. Patties
tastings) had an interesting
idea for future wine tastings.
He and his wife would like to
pick out 4 or 5 of “their”
favorite wines that we carry
here at Cork’s and taste you on
them. They would come down on a
Friday night from 4 to 7 and
pour the wines and talk about
them. This sounds like a great
idea to me as I get to sit on my
butt and drink wine. If this is
something any of you would be
interested in doing let me know
and we could make this a monthly
feature here at Cork’s.
