Welcome to Cork’s
weekly newsletter. I hope everybody had a great Easter
holiday. As the weather and
the Sox meander through the early spring we have lots of
new things going on at our website
www.corksfinewine.com.
We have new Cork’s logo products available for purchase
at
http://www.cafepress.com/corksfinewines .
From T-shirts to hats…coffee mugs, tote bags and other
cool stuff. There will also be links to other products
such as wine books, glassware, and assorted wine
accessories. We will be adding new items and links
weekly so be sure to check them out.
Our friend Scott from
Long Trail Brewing Company will be here tonight from
4:30 to 7:30 to sample us on his Summer Survival Pack
brews. It comes in a 12 pack and contains the Long
Trail Ale, Blackberry Wheat, Traditional IPA, and a
Brewmaster’s Limited Edition beer. I’m sure he could be
convinced to sample a couple of his other outstanding
Vermont beers as well.
We have a few new
beers that have come in the last few weeks and a couple
more due in soon. We brought in the Brooklyn beer
lineup and will be tasting them in 2 weeks. There are 2
beers from stone that now come in 6-pks, Ruination IPA
and Pale Ale. The new limited release Stone Imperial
Russian Stout is also in stock in limited quantities.
One of our customers
had requested a “Wine 101” type tasting so we will be
doing that this Friday from 4 to 7 PM. We will talk
about the basics, types of varietals, food pairings etc.
We will taste a sparkling wine, a white, rose and a red
wine just to compare and contrast. I’ve also included a
few wine books off of Amazon.com that would be
interesting and informative. Hopefully this will
not be too boring for the wine aficionados out there.
Please feel free to let me know if there are themes,
topics, varietals, regions or countries that you would
like to cover for future tastings.
Last but not least.
New to Ted’s bottom shelf specials is our mix 6
closeout specials.
We have a bunch of winter beers, discontinued beers, and
assorted 3, 4, 5 packs that we need to get rid of to
make room for the summer beers and new beers that we’re
bringing in. They will be on the table in the back of
the store. Just grab an empty 6 pack holder and mix and
match a “6” for 5 bucks. Please make sure that you tell
the cashier so that they don’t just scan the UPC on the
6-pk. If you just want to try 1 or 2 beers we will sell
them singly for $1 each. If you really find some you
like you can mix a case for $15. Come in early for the
best selection as they tend to go quickly.
