Finally some warm
sunny weather and the Sox still basking in the
afterglow of the sweep of the evil empire.
Hopefully they don’t return the favor in the Bronx
this weekend. Be sure to check out our new arrival
and seasonal beer display in the front of the
store. It’s constantly changing and has a bunch of
new brews and beers we will be tasting in the coming
weeks.
Tonight’s beer
tasting is a launch of a new line for us at Cork’s
from Brooklyn Brewery. We’ve done the Post Road
Pumpkin Ale from them in the fall and had great
success with it. Brooklyn Lager, Brooklyn Brown
Ale, and Brooklyn Pennant Ale are in stock in 6
packs ready to be sampled. Unfortunately the summer
brew is still not available but when it comes in we
will try it then. They also have a large format
called Local 1. It’s made from German hops and
Belgian yeast. It comes in a cool 750 ml bottle and
promises to be quite yummy.
For Friday nights
wine tasting we will feature 2 new mini lines.
First we have the Chardonnay and Merlot from
Stevenot. These wines are outstanding and used to
retail in the upper teens. They have recently
shifted wholesalers and now can be found in the
$10.99 (2 for $20) bins in the front of the store.
Next up is The Jibe Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
These delicious wines come from the Marlborough
region of New Zealand. They come in a cool sail
label and can be found in a display in the front of
the store.
Be sure to check
out the website for links and info on these 2 and
all the new wines and beer that have arrived in the
last few weeks. You can also check out the newCork’s
gear on the site. For those who know Ted the Wine
Dog he will be going in for his annual “stop the
shedding!” haircut this weekend. So to keep him
warm until the weather really turns warm he will be
sporting the new Cork’s doggy t-shirt. So be sure
to stop by and check him out.
