Cork's Weekly Newsletter

June 28 2007

Welcome to Cork’s 4th of July newsletter.

Summer is sure hitting us big-time the last few days but the forecast looks great this weekend and right up to 4th. Speaking of Wednesday the 4th of July we will be open from 11 to 5 if you
need to re-stock for the beach or your barbecues.

We do not have a beer tasting scheduled for tonight but we have a bunch of new samples from vendors that I’d be happy to crack open with anybody interested. To celebrate the 4th you can take10 % off our huge selection of summer seasonal beers. Be sure to check out the 2 large racks in the front of the store as we don’t have room for all the summer beers in the cooler.

Brand new to the store (in a bright pink bottle no less) is theLuna Di Luna Pink Merlot. We will taste this wine along with many other summer wines and beers at our 1st Annual Customer
Appreciation Day on Saturday July 14th from 1 to 4 PM. Please check the website (corksfinewine.com) for details and updates on this event. In my never ending battle to sell delicious rosewines, any rose wine in the store will be 15 % off throughthe 4th of July.

This Friday night’s wine tasting is with Mark from Boston Wine. He will start with 2 Spanish wines, move on over to Italy for the next 2, and finish up with a unique red varietal from Austria. 1st up is the Marques de Gelida Brut Riserva Cava. I’m a huge cava fan and have never tried a reserve so I’m looking forward to tasting this one myself.

Next up is a delicious blended white wine called Basa Blanco from the DO Rueda region. Moving
on to Italy, Zenato Lugana is 100% Trebbiano and a nice white alternative wine. Falesco Vitiano is a Cab/Merlot/Sangiovese blend that is great for the barbecue. Last but not least Hopler
Zweigelt is a blend of Austrian varietals Blaufrankisch and St. Laurent….say what?...I look forward to trying this wine for the 1st time with you as well.

Last but not least we got a partial shipment of the Redsox wines in this week. We do not haveenough to fill all the pre-orders that we took at this time. We will be getting the rest of our
order in the next couple of weeks so there is no need to panic (just like when we lose 3 straight or the Yankees close to 7 games back).

If you ordered the Schilling Schardonnay, Manny Being Merlot, or the Caberknuckle at the tasting you can come pick up your orders on a 1st come basis starting today. Just go to the front counter and give your name to the cashier and they will check your name off the list. We are still holding out hope we can get more of the wine to sell to everybody but it doesn’t look promising at this time.

I hope everybody has a safe and Happy 4th of July holiday.

Robert

P.S. we are looking for qualified cashier help to work a couplenights and a weekend shift or 2. Please call Megan or Erin (508-337-9463) to inquire about the position.
