One down 10 more to go.  Wow that sure was a very impressive start to the postseason by the Redsox.  Can they win another World Series?   Will the Patriots go undefeated this year?  Will fall weather ever arrive?  I guess time will tell, but in the meantime here’s what going on at Cork’s.

Our 3rd Annual Grand Fall Wine Tasting is just a few weeks away.  It will be Friday night October 26th from 5 to 8 PM.  We are just starting to plan the wines for the event and we should have well over 100 wines for you to sample.  I kind of liked the way the raffle went at the last beer tasting so we will do that again right in the middle at 6:30.  There will be lots of prizes including a private in store Holiday tasting for up to 10 people with Tom (he aint heavy he’s my brother) from Carolina wines.  Be sure to check the website (corksfinewine.com) as we get closer for details and updates.

I don’t have a supplier lined up for tonight’s beer tasting so we will continue our fall theme with some new Autumn beers.  1st up is Abita Pecan Harvest Ale which sounds really good or freakin weird, I guess we’ll find out. Next is Spaten Oktoberfest.  Then we head up to Maine for Sea Dog Pumpkin Ale and Gritty’s Halloween Ale.  As with all our Thursday night beer tastings you will receive 10 % off any of the beers we taste that evening.

Friday night’s wine tasting will be with a brand new wine distributor here at Cork’s called Millesimes Fine Wine Traders.  Leading off will be a delicious Prosecco called Sorelle Bronca.  Next up is Vigneti Delle Dolomiti Pinot Grigio followed by Cesconi Chardonnay.  These Italian whites are just outstanding and great values. We move to France next for Costieres de Nimes from the Patric Lesec Selections.  We end up back in Italy in the Piemonte region for Mattei Barbera.  All these wines are true “Old World” wines done at very reasonable prices.
