I'd like to thank all of you who attended last weeks 4th
Annual Kick-off Beer tasting. I thought it went real
well and was the perfect size for a big tasting. Going
forward we plan to keep the same scaled back format for
the wine tastings as well. Just more room to maneuver
and actually have a chance to talk to the reps. The
weather turned out perfect...the Pats destroyed the Jets
on Sunday…and hopefully you got a chance to try some new
and interesting beers.
We will not have a beer tasting this week as we take a
couple weeks off after the big event. We will get some
scheduled soon as we go into the fall and holiday
seasons. This weeks wine tasting will feature wines from
Pannotia Vineyards. We will start with a delicious
Riesling from the Rheinhessen region of Germany. From
there the next 3 varietals are all from Mendoza,
Argentina. Torrontes is a nice alternative white to the
everyday Chardonnays and Pinot Grigios out there. Malbec
is next and to me is the hottest varietal out there
today. We will finish the lineup with Cabernet
Sauvignon. These wines are a great value at $10.99 and
you will also get 10 % off the night of the tasting. If
that wasn’t enough there are rebates available for $2.00
on 1 bottle, all the way up to $25.00 on just 6
bottles!!

OK for those of yo u
who are regulars here at Cork’s you all know Ted the
wine dog. He seems to have his own lil cult following
and everybody is always offering to watch him. Well as
it turns out I’m heading to Maine for a few days this
weekend and my usual dog sitters are not available. So
if anybody is interested in taking the furry guy off my
hands for a couple days please let me know. You can see
his sad lil face hugging a bottle of his favorite wine
on the front page of the website (corksfinewine.com) if
that helps any. Heck I’ll even throw in a bottle of your
favorite wine for your troubles. I hope you all have a
great weekend.
