Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. Day 2 of the Randy Moss trade and I’m much less angry about it today. Apparently he was not the good teammate and soldier we were led to believe he was. At some point you become a cancer, and like Manny, it is addition by subtraction and you must go. Good thing we have the Celtics and the “Big Shamrock” opening the exhibition season last night, and the Bruins start their Stanley Cup run in Prague this weekend. I’m not sure but I think there might be baseball playoff games going on as well. And I think the rain is finally gone and we should have a beautiful fall holiday weekend

The Oktoberfest tasting at the Comcast was once a gain a huge success. They had 2 tents this year, 1 with the main course food and us pouring delicious pumpkin beers and Oktoberfest brews. And a 2nd tent with desserts and radio Disney blaring for the kiddies. I saw a few of our regulars there and hopefully we made a few new friends. With the exception of Sam Adams Oktoberfest (which we took a stand on and ordered a ton of) we are running out of fall beers. So if you see your favorite pumpkin or Oktoberfest beer ,I’d grab it quick. We are still closing the last remains of summer beers at 10 % off any you can find. We don’t have a beer tasting scheduled for this week, but we have Newport Storm and Dogfish Head coming and I will get on these reps to get more booked.

We do have our friend Johny Pesky from Trio Wines here this Friday night from 4:30 to 7 to taste you on some new wines from his portfolio. He will start with 2 white wines from Ed Hardy, Pinot Grigio and brand new to the lineup Moscato. Moscato is the hottest white varietal out there and John says this 1 has a slight sparkle similar to Moscato D’Asti. The Black Dog Chardonnay and Cabernet from the North Coast region of California will be next. This is the same “The Black Dog” from Martha’s Vineyard that I must admit besides seeing a random sweatshirt I know absolutely nothing about…but the wines are really yummmie! Tolossa Pinot Noir from Edna Valley will be next, followed by the Father In Law Shiraz from South Australia. This looks like 1 of those hokey label wines but it isn’t. It’s from Charles Melton and I bought the 2004 at a closeout price. It normally sells for close to 20 bucks but we have it for $10.99 or 2 for 20.

So as you’re out apple picking, leaf peeping, or picking out your Halloween pumpkin be sure to stop at
Cork’s and pick up your favorite fall beverage. We will be open normal hours (10 AM to 9 PM) on Monday Columbus Day. Have a great weekend and we will see you soon.
