Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter.
We are
finally done with phase 1 of our renovations to make
room for the distilled spirits. We have carved out the
first 20 feet on the right
hand
wall for liquor. We will expand this and double the
size when we move the jug wines to the back of the store
in phase 2 of the move. We have a very good selection
of liquor including cordials and ready to drink products
which you can find at the end of the aisle on the left.
In order to make room we have moved the local wines,
organic wines, and alcohol free wines to the front of
the other wall across the store. Small 187 ml 4-packs
and the fruity wines are now at the very end of the far
wall as well. Thank you all again for your patience
during this move.
OK,
now back to the fun stuff. The Sox are on their way to
Japan as I write this and the Celtics look like they
have a real chance to raise banner # 17 this year.
Finally the 1st day of Spring is here and
March Madness is about to kick off at noon. For those
who want to partake in
more than the office bracket pool we have an awesome Sam
Adams basketball hoop in the back of the store. The
record is 118 held by Tom “he ain’t heavy he’s my
brother” but I’m hoping somebody can break it just to
shut him up and let him get to work.
We
will have both a beer tasting tonight (Thursday from
4:30 to 7:30) and a wine ta
sting
Friday from 4 to7 PM. Tonight’s beer tasting is with
Boulder Brewing
Co. out of Colorado. We have brought in a bunch of new
brews from Boulder
and this should be an excellent tasting. The lineup
includes Sundance Amber
Ale,
Passtime Pale Ale, Single Track Copper Ale, Mojo IPA,
Mojo Risin Double IPA, Hazed & Infused, and Planet
Porter. We also brought in some Brewers Dozen 12 packs
as well. I haven’t tried most of these beers myself but
every beer I’ve had from them so far has been
outstanding.
We
have our friend John from Trio Wines here for our Easter
wine tasting on Good Friday night. He will start with
Bloom Pinot Gris a new addition to the Bloom line of
German wines. Next will be Pine & Post Chardonnay from
Washington State. From there we go to Spain for Cubero
Vinas Viejas Old Vine Garnacha. The last 2 are from
Italy and are both excellent wines and really cool
packaging. Dardano Zara is blend of Dolcetto and
Barbera that is just yummy and comes in a real funky
bottle. Next is an organic and bio-dynamic Italian
blend called Valdifalco Morrelino di Scansano. Not only
is this an excellent wine it comes with a very unique
glass closure instead of a cork.
Don’t
forget to get up extra early for the Sox opener Tuesday
AM in Japan, gametime is 6 AM !! This years Redsox
charity wines will be
Sauvignyoouuk Blanc, Captain’s Cabernet, and Vintage
Papi. They should be in by late April and we will have
plenty this year. You can check out the website
(corksfinewine.com) for more info and when we will have
our big Redsox wine tasting.
So I
hope you all have a chance to stop by and check out our
new liquor section, shoot a few hoops, enjoy some beer
and wine tastings and stock up for the Easter holiday.
We will be closed Easter Sunday so we can enjoy the
holiday with our families. I wish you all a Happy
Easter.
